The following components are required to run this program: Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime

Installing Visual C Runtime on Linux

For Steam games (Proton)
The easiest method for installing missing runtimes is with Protontricks, which acts as a graphical interface for Winetricks.
  1. Install Protontricks. Most Linux distributions have Protontricks available in their software repositories. You may also find it in the Discover store if you are on a Steam Deck.
  2. Manual Install

    flatpak install flathub com.github.Matoking.protontricks

    Run

    flatpak run com.github.Matoking.protontricks

  3. Run Protontricks and select the game that is giving you the error.
  4. Choose a "winetricks" option. This will launch a menu with different options.
  5. Install the runtime.
    • Select Install a Windows DLL or component.
    • Find the latest vcrun package, for example, vcrun2022, and click OK to install it.
    • If that doesn't work, you may need to try an older version, such as vcrun2019 or vcrun2015. You can try installing a few different versions.
  6. Re-run the game. Close Protontricks and launch the game again to see if the error is resolved.

 If getting error with
