Clair Obscur

It's nowhere NEAR as good as BG3. It's like a 5-6/10 so far.

Pros
>voice acting and writing is decent enough
>the initial premise is mildly interesting
>combat is actually pretty fun with a decent amount of combat options
>parry and dodge timings spice up the standard four niggas in a row combat
>setting up chains of move combos or exploiting enemy weakpoints can be pretty satisfying
>the modifier items (Pictos) you can find seem pretty interesting and can have a fairly significant impact on combat
>graphics look "good" but...

Cons
>UI, animations, graphical artifacts, lighting, excessive particle effects are all terrible. Has that signature soulless and sterile UE5 look
>main character is a pushover fag, while the asian girl is your typical girlboss know-it-all
>hard to care about stakes when thousands of people die at the beginning of the game and no one barely bats an eye
>game is way too easy, I'm on normal and plowing through encounters despite missing most dodges/parries
>parries are way too strong as they basically allow you to not only negate all damage but also deal counter damage and gain AP. They are hard to pull off, but if you are even somewhat consistent at them, you would just steamroll the game even on hard.
>stat balancing is completely wack. Vitality increases HP by a ridiculous amount (and all healing is percentage based rather than flat, making it even stronger), while all the others barely budge the stats
>menu is awkward and clunky to navigate (at least on controller)
>the levels are extremely generic MMO-tier filler where everything looks the same and blends together. No idea why they don't give you a map or objective marker when levels are so dull and samey and basically just serve as series of hallways between cutscenes. Surely they can't think anyone enjoys """exploring""" these generic slop worlds.

Overall, I feel lied to. Fuck you, this is not some 10/10 classic masterpiece it was hyped as.
